What is Supper & Substance?
Supper & Substance is a simple, yet very positive approach to helping couples, within their church parish, appreciate that Matrimony is a life-long process which requires continual attention and God's
loving presence.
The program offers the opportunity for spouses to meet with other couples from their parish, enjoy a nice meal (Supper), and witness an inspiring presentation (Substance).
How can we help you start or continue your Supper & Substance Program?
The Faith & Marriage Ministry offers a variety of ways to assist you as you work to incorporate this program into your parish. We provide assistance through Supper & Substance grants, speaker couples & bios, educational opportunities, and resources. We also have a Supper & Substance manualthat provides information on forming your committee, what needs to be done and when, and other useful information necessary for putting on a successful and exciting event.
If you have any questions or if you would like to hear from other parishes that have a long-standing Supper & Substance history, please contact us and we can get you the information you need.
Supper & Substance Workshops:
Throughout the year the Faith & Marriage Ministry will host a Supper & Substance Workshop. The goal of the workshop is to help parishes enhance their current Supper & Substance program or help parishes incorporate this program into their ministry to married couples. At a workshop we will cover topics including:
- Setting up your first Supper & Substance Program
- Ideas to strengthen your existing Supper & Substance Program
- Benefits for Married Couples
- Benefits for the Parish and Parish Life
- Q&A Session
If you are interested in attending a workshop or if you would like more information, please contact us today.
Supper & Substance in the News:
If you have resumed your Supper and Substance events, please let us know. We would like to feature a Supper & Substance parish event in Pathways each quarter, along with the dates of upcoming Supper & Substance events. We welcome photos. |
